UNIT II – Living Together

Visit to All India Radio

In course of their learning related to the community-based unit of work ‘Living Together’, students of the International wing visited All India Radio. As an educational visit, the students got a peek into how the members of a community come together at one place to utilize their professional skills and in-turn provide service to the community. Most interestingly, students saw a live radio broadcast from inside the studio and were given an education about the various peripherals that make a broadcast possible by popular radio-jockeys. Students also visited the radio museum, where they learnt about the history of radio and saw actual specimens of different kinds of radio that existed in the past. Specimens of preserved newspapers showing revolution in the field of radio broadcast pre and post Indian-independence left the learners in awe. It was a great learning experience.
