Rules Rules Rules : A Collaborative Effort

Under the aegis of ISA, the project taken up was RULES-RULES-RULES in which various topics were assigned to class VI and VII on which they have to do their research work, write reports, collaborate with other schools across the globe and finally conclude their study. Under this activity, the students were asked to compose a Rap on Rules. The students explored their inner musicians and came up with brilliantly self composed Raps based on RULES. There were more than 40 groups that fought the battle of rap and shortlisted to 12 for final competition and that too quite brilliantly. They talked about various kinds of rules from home to school to government to public and transport, all the aspects were lyrically presented.

Manav Sthali School, R-Block, New Rajender Nagar, New Delhi organized “RAP ON RULES” on 27 th Oct 2016, in the school auditorium under ISA activity “RULES-RULES-RULES”. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Mamta V Bhatnagar, Director & Founder Principal, Manav Sthali School. With her as their mentor the students were judged by two of our distinguished alumni who had made a name for themselves in the world of music. Mr. AMIT KAPOOR aka DJ AMI (batch 1997) has been spinning magic for over 15 years now in most of the high profile clubs and lounges not only in India but as a resident in the clubs of Hongkong, Paris, China, Singapore, Dubai. A very humble man by nature DJ Ami highly appreciated the talent of these young rappers and predicted a very bright future for all of them. Judging along with him was our alumni and recipient of MANAV SUR SADHAK title 2012 MR. SARTHAK SHARMA who is presently pursuing vocals (western) from BRIDGE music academy. He has been a teacher for Jazz guitar at YMCA and a graduate of Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya in classical music (Vocals). He appreciated the efforts put in by the students and thanked the school for providing a platform to the young students to showcase their talent. He enthralled the audience with a melodious performance which was a tribute to his alumnus.

5 teams out of 12 teams that participated won the trophy where there was a tie for the position of 1 st runners up and winner. Overall it was a fun event and the audience especially the parents and grandparents present there wore a proud smile after watching the performance.

Through this ISA activity, the students understood the relevance and importance of rules. The group discussions enhanced the confidence of the students in public speaking, presentation, skills, critical thinking, cooperative learning skill and writing skill. The students realized that understanding rules is important in all walks of life. All the activities were full of fun and learning and the students looked forward to more such fun ways of learning. By the end of this activity it was clearly established that following rules is a necessity to enjoy our freedom safely.
