Accreditation

Manav Sthali School, R-Block, Rajinder Nagar, is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is the largest educational board in the country and is duly recognized by the Department of Education, Government of NCT Delhi.

Curriculum

The School has students enrolled from grade 1 to grade 12.

Primary School: I-VII

Manav Sthali believes that love for education must be instilled during initial years of childhood and for same different teaching-learning methods must be employed. With changing times, method of teaching-learning has also evolved and has resulted in a multidirectional cluster workshop technique. Here, the teacher becomes the group co-ordinator instigating and directing the work flow, fostering students without the phobia of examinations and homework. Spoken & Written expressions are encouraged and enhanced and home assignments are oriented towards proficiency.

There are no formal examinations for Primary [I-VII]. The students are evaluated on their class performance, an ongoing process throughout the year. In order to delete the fear of examinations twice a week attempts are conducted. Informal evaluation is conducted only to ensure regularity and for parents to review and understand the child’s potential and understanding of subjects taught in school. The progress report is sent thrice a year to the parents.

Own curriculum is based on the guidelines of NCERT and the Directorate of Education, Delhi.

Subjects taught in classes I to V are: English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Computer Studies, FEIT, Life Skills, G.A, Sports, Library and Value Based Education

Subjects taught in classes VI & VII are: English, Hindi, Sanskrit/French/German, FEIT, Mathematics, Science(Physics, Biology and Chemistry), Social Science(History, Civics and Geography), Life Skills, Computer Studies, G.A, Sports, Library, Yoga/Music/Dance/Gym and Value Based Education

All students are involved in various activities such as Art & Craft(specially utilizing waste material), Painting, Dramatics, Music, Dance, Horse Riding, Yoga/Gym, Table Tennis & Skating.

Middle School: VIII

Class VIII curriculum is based on the guidelines of NCERT and the Directorate of Education, Delhi.CCE begins from VIII onwards.

Subjects taught in classes VIII are: >English, Hindi, Sanskrit/French/German, Mathematics, Science(Physics, Biology and Chemistry), Social Science(History, Civics, Geography) and Computer Studies, G.A, Sports, Library and Value Based Education

As part of Community service from VIII onwards all our students participate in SALD.

Secondary & Senior Secondary School: IX-XII

Classes IX to XII follow the course as prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. CCE starting from VIII continues upto X standard.

Subjects taught in classes IX & X are English, Hindi, Sanskrit/French/German, Mathematics, Science and Technology(Physics, Biology and Chemistry), Social Science(History, Civics, and Geography), Physical and Health Education, Art Education, Life Skills, Work Experience(Gardening/First Aid) and Value Based Education.

All students are involved in various activities such as Art & Craft, Painting, Dramatics, Music, Dance, Horse Riding, Yoga/Gym, Table Tennis & Skating.

As part of Community service all our students participate in SALD.

In XI and XII all students prepare for The All India Senior School Certificate Examination. The students are offered the following combinations of subjects with mainly a division of Science, Commerce and Humanities stream.

Standard: I toVII

A progressive learning programme is designed for the junior classes. Students learn & acquire knowledge from various sources in an entirely stress free and enjoyable environment. There are no formal tests or examinations. Students are guided, observed and assessed on the basis of their day to day performance in scholastic & co-scholastic disciplines on a regular basis. The spoken ability of the students has improved and they experience no stage fright.

a) In Languages, they are judged on Reading, Recitation, Writing Ability, Listening Ability, Debate, Extempore, and Speech Ability.
b) In Mathematics, their Calculations, Application, Mental Ability & Practical Activities are taken into account.
c) In Sciences, Social Sciences & EVS, their Clarity of Concepts, Practical Activities and Projects are seen.
d) In Computers, their Clarity of Concepts, Practical Application & Knowledge of Hardware Technology is checked.
e) In World Vision, their Current Affairs update, General Awareness & Travelogue based on the knowledge of place in India & World.
f) Their Cultural & Creative Accomplishment, their Sports Activities as participation in Games, Stamina & Decorum in playground is checked.
g) Their personality is observed on Politeness, Courtesy, Uniform, Respect for Elders, Interaction with Peers, Health & Safety Habits etc. and is graded.

The record of development is sent to the parents under all these heads is sent thrice a year i.e.
1. Appraisal – April to August
2. Appraisal – September to December
3. Appraisal – January to March

We do not have general FA’s & SA’s in junior classes but regular written assignments & orals are graded by the teachers.

CGPA(Cumulative Grade point Average) will be provided excluding additional 6th subject as per Scheme of Studies.
An indicative equivalence of Grade Point and Percentage of marks can be computed as follows :
– Subject wise indicative percentage of marks = 9.5 x GPof the subject
– Overall indicative percentage of marks = 9.5 x CGPA

NOTE:
– To qualify in a subject Part – 1A, a candidate must obtain minimum Grade D.
– Those candidate who have obtained Grade E1 or E2 in the subjects shall have to improve their performance.
– Overall performance of the candidate is based on the achievement in the Scholastic Areas as well as Co- Scholastic Areas as follow:
i) Under Scholastic Areas Grades have been upgraded to the next higher grade in one or two subjects as per the total Grade Points achieved under Co- Scholastic Areas 2 (A), 2(B) 3(A) and 3(B) as given below:
53 – 65 : Grades in two subjectsof Scholastic area is upgrade
40 – 52 : Grade in one subjectof Scholastic area is upgraded.
ii) Upgradation has been done from lower grade to higher grade.
iii) No grade in the subjects of scholastic area has been upgraded twice.
iv) The upgraded grade has been shown with ‘*’.
v) No upgradation is done if the grade obtained in the subject is E2 or A1.
vi) The candidate is assessed according to the descriptive indicators given in Part 2 and Part 3, corresponding grades are given for the same.

FOR THE INFORMATION OF THE PARENTS

  • The Achievement Card is a comprehensive record of the child’s periodic performance.
  • Continuous assessment for every subject is recorded in the Achievement Card to help the parents to observe the progress of their ward. Regular attendance is therefore essential to help the child to maintain his/her performance.
  • Parents are requested to observe the performance of their ward & thus help us in improving the child’s overall progress.
  • The progress Achievement Card should be signed by both the parents/guardian (in the absence of parents) and sent back to the school within two days of its issue.
  • For all round development of the child, participation in various activities designed for the development of total personality of the child is essential.
  • Outstanding performance in these activities will be rewarded in the form of appreciation marks / certificates.
  • The child should attend school regularly and punctually. Only in case of illness or unexpected circumstances the attendance will be condoned, otherwise 100% attendance is desirable. All Saturdays other than IInd and last are working.
  • Scholarships are awarded by the school for outstanding performance of the student.

For Manav Sthali School, R-Block, Rajinder Nagar, every student scores 1st rank in some or the other aspect of education. However, to facilitate college admission procedures, an average ranking on the basis of percentiles is done.
